Delhi Yellow Alert: Restrictions are being tightened amidst increasing cases of the new variant of the corona virus, Omicron. In this episode, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Tuesday that restrictions will be implemented in Delhi under Yellow Alert. In this, some restrictions will be imposed under the ‘Graded Response Action Plan’ (GRAP). The Chief Minister, after reviewing the Kovid situation in a high-level meeting, said that the cases of infection in Delhi are increasing very fast but there is no need to panic as most of the people have mild symptoms of the disease.

That’s why the yellow alert was issued

‘Yellow’ alert is issued when the Kovid infection rate remains more than 0.5 percent for two consecutive days. The infection rate in Delhi for the last two days is more than 0.5 percent. Kejriwal said that it is unfortunate that people are going to markets and malls without wearing masks. He has appealed to the people to follow the appropriate COVID behaviour.

Most people are being treated at home

The Chief Minister further said that the cases of infection are increasing in Delhi but the use of medical oxygen has not increased. The demand for beds or ICU beds in hospitals has also not increased. This means that most people are being treated at home. He told that the list of restrictions under the ‘Yellow’ alert will be made public later.
